http://10kquam.wordpress.com Just another WordPress.com weblog Tue, 27 Oct 2009 19:11:09 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.com/ http://s2.wp.com/i/buttonw-com.png http://10kquam.wordpress.com http://10kquam.wordpress.com/2009/10/27/a-little-here-a-little-there/ http://10kquam.wordpress.com/2009/10/27/a-little-here-a-little-there/#comments Tue, 27 Oct 2009 19:10:16 +0000 10kquam http://10kquam.wordpress.com/2009/10/27/a-little-here-a-little-there/ ]]> Why hello my fellow bloggers!  How have all you been?  I made a collage of all kinds of daisies and other flowers in my Teacher’s Assistant class the other day and it is really pretty.  The weather is getting colder now and there aren’t many flowers that are alive any more.  The first frost has been here and gone so a lot of the flowers are dying or hibernating for the winter.  It is a little depressing not seeing all of the colors of flowers and changing leaves of summer and fall.  That does mean, however, that Christmas is fast approaching and I am really excited for that.  I have been looking forward to Christmas since about January of this year.  Christmas is my favorite time of year, barring the fact that there aren’t any flowers out at all.  After Christmas there is a long winter, but then spring comes around and the colors come back into bloom!   I don’t have a garden at home, but I love driving by other peoples’ houses and seeing all the colors and varieties of spring and summer.  Most people start planting and landscaping around March or April.  Some plants and flowers have different periods and restrictions about how they need to be planted and handled.  Just like people, flowers need a lot of tender loving care when being handled.  It’s hard to know how or when to plant and take care of your garden if you are just starting out, but there are many garden groups and things to read on advice about how to take good care of a garden.  Well, that’s all for now.  Talk to you all later!

]]> http://10kquam.wordpress.com/2009/10/27/a-little-here-a-little-there/feed/ 0 10kquam http://10kquam.wordpress.com/2009/10/08/daisies/ http://10kquam.wordpress.com/2009/10/08/daisies/#comments Thu, 08 Oct 2009 19:09:08 +0000 10kquam http://10kquam.wordpress.com/?p=4 ]]> Well hi there everybody!  My name is Kate.  This blog is going to be about flowers.  I love flowers!  Yellow daisies are my favorite.  I also like Gerbera Daisies very much.  Most people want red roses or chocolates for Valentine’s Day, but I would much rather have a dozen daisies.  My mom got me a bunch of yellow daisies for my birthday once and it was really nice.  Instead of getting me cut daisies, she got the actual plant so we could keep them alive for much longer than if they were already cut.  Yellow is my favorite color, so any yellow flower is good with me.  Other colors are very nice too, but I like to be different.   That’s why I like Gerbera Daisies because they come in all different kinds of colors and sizes.  No two are exactly the same.  Plus, they look very cute in a bouquet.  I also like looking at different kinds of landscaping and stuff like that.  I love when I walk up to someone’s house or property and see a huge garden or even a little group of flowers and plants.  It makes the property look nicer without even doing anything to the house.  I don’t have a garden or anything at my house, but I wish we did.  I think it would be fun to take care of it and watch everything grow and develop.  When I get my own house, I will definitely have a garden of my own.  I want big woods by my house with wood chips on the ground and little bushes and flowers everywhere.  That would be my dream house.  Well I should go now.  Talk to you all later!
